I have so many exciting things to share today because there are so many exciting things happening this week! Where do I start?
1. Habemus Papam! Let's start with the most obvious: Pope Francis I. I remember excitedingly watching my laptop [in silence] in the university library when Pope Benedict was elected. So, it was nice to do some screaming and jumping around this time around. I have been thoroughly enjoying reading about his life and his past homilies. For whatever reason, he makes me want to pray more fervently. Does anybody else get that urge too?
2. My husband finally comes home from overseas TODAY! I'm so relieved that the last 8 extraordinary months of our lives are finally coming to a close. Although we don't like to fully admit it, my husband and I agreed that these last several months were a good and fruitful lesson for us to learn about ourselves as individuals, as a married couple, and as parents.
3. We're moving to sunny California! Yes! Like... soon. Like... very, very soon! As in we'll be celebrating Easter Sunday West-Coast style. I'm excited, nervous, thankful. I am going to miss everyone that I have met in South Carolina. But this move is going to be a great thing because we will be together as a family. Tis the military life.
4. It's my birthday! Actually, it's tomorrow: March 16. But I just wanted to share that because this week is a great "birthday week"! I am finally coming to the end of my 20's. I can't wait until I'm 30 though. I've been saying that for my last few birthdays. My 20s have been full of blessings, but extremely difficult as well. I firmly believe that my 30s are going to be my "prime"! What else can I say? I am absolutely fully convinced that life only gets better with age. Like wine.
"I want to be 30! 30, and flirty, and thriving!"
As for #5, #6, and #7... I got nothing. I don't know what else I could say that could possibly match up to the 4 above.

Awww I am so excited for you that your husband will be back today! That's such wonderful news! And your birthday and California! That's so awesome! I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Enjoy all the time with your husband and family! :)
